A one-day course on everything you need to know to start keeping a few sheep: breeds, methods of enclosure, feed, on-going car & pests and diseases. Maintenance - cleaning, worming, shearing etc. Some of the problems. Laws concerning sheep, and those for having an organic flock.
We have some Texel crossbred rams here for you to look at, and Dek will bring a Hebridean ewe and lambs.
In the afternoon there will be individual tuition on how to handle the animals, so do bring overalls or old clothes. And we shall also be demonstrating how to up-end an adult sheep and clip its hooves.
