This new one-day course will help you to find out whether you want to keep goats.

Course Content

This course is aimed at the complete beginner and will cover all aspects of goat keeping and their care.  The leader is Beverley Whelan.  Click on her name above to see more about her.

You will learn about the different goat breeds and their suitability for your purpose.  The course will cover housing requirements, feeding of adult and kid goats, health and hygiene (including worming, hoof trimming and vaccinations), common diseases, how to identify and treat them and also DEFRA and Animal Trading Standards requirements.

At the end of the day you will have the knowledge you need to decide if goat keeping is for you and what to look for when choosing your goat.

Summary 

A one day course covering all aspects of goat keeping from how to select your goat to caring for it through the lifecycle.

PS  In June, Beverley will bring some of her new kids.

Beverley's knowledge of the subject was very comprehensive.  I thought the hands-on toe-clipping time spent with the resident Saanen goats was really useful and instructive.
