Dowsing & water divining, an introduction
Dowsing is a sense that can be developed by most people. Once dowsing skills are developed you are off into another world; another world that can take your breath away with what it reveals. Some people are sensitive to and respond readily to the energies, others have to practice before acquiring the skill. Dowsing, the response to unconscious or subliminal energies in our environment, covers or is involved in a whole range of activities such as healing, including crystal healing, Feng Shui, Chakras, auras, earth energies, anything that involves tuning into the subliminal energies around us.
However, dowsing is a bit like playing a musical instrument. There is a long way to go between getting those first responses and being able to search successfully and reliably for something that is invisible to the other senses.
For thousands of years it was not known what the energies associated with dowsing were, and they were deemed to have magical mystic powers. Then, in the last century, magnetic fields were suspected. But magnetic fields did not always fit in as expected so the jury was till out, so to speak. Over the past few years, I have been able to show that the magnetic fields involved are the dia and paramagnetic fields, and not the ferromagnetic field that people had experimented with. So a few years back, the Diamagnetic Paramagnetic theory of Dowsing was developed and this theory has formed the basis of all my research and field work.
The course aims to develop dowsing skills and knowledge; provide a brief introduction to a theoretical foundation for dowsing; to cover the basic procedures involved in water divining; to identify the quality, or lack of it, of water using witnesses; to estimate depth and volume flow; to deal with any archaeological artefacts found on site that may be relevant to water divining.

Comments from participants:
All excellent. So enjoyed staying with Anne and Bob. Enjoyed their hospitality and food. What a heavenly place they live and work in. We hope to come back.
I thought the whole day was first class, and I can think of no improvements.
List of recommended books:
The Divining Hand by Christopher Bird. This book is a classic but is for readers who are interested in the history and development of dowsing. It covers the experiments that have been done to try and explain dowsing.
The D-Force, by Vincent Reddish is another book dealing with a scientific investigation of dowsing. It is specialised and does not deal with practical aspects.
The Complete Guide to Dowsing, by George Applegate is a good text for those interested in the practical aspects of dowsing. It is non-scientific but practical and widely used.
Dowsing, New Light on an Ancient Art, by Tom Williamson is both practical and discussive dealing in particular with the human magnetic sense. It is written for the general reader.
Water Divining and Other Dowsing, by Ralph Whitlock is a good practical guide but no theoretical background.
