Alan Adcock - sheep

I attended Chadacre Agricultural  Institute from 1953-55.  The Principal, Mr W.R. Seward was a keen stockman, especially sheep and we were all expected to take part in sheep duty.  The Shepherd at the time was Richard Seabrook.  Richard later made programmes for the BBC on sheep, and his family still keep all the sheep at Ickworth Park.

During the sixties I managed a flock of 200 ewes at Hasketon.  My mentor was a local elderly Scottish Sheep Farmer, Mr George Anderson.  He was extremely well known in Suffolk and gave many demonstrations with sheep dogs.  He has also written several books on shepherding.  I was very lucky to have known him.
