Daniel kenning is a chartered energy engineer, chartered mechanical engineer and chartered environmentalist. He is a freelance consultant in the field of sustainable energy, sustainable transport and environmental management. He worked for ten years at Ford, where he was a specialist in eco-design, design for recycling and design for sustainability.
Since 2001 he has worked on many projects related to energy efficiency in commercial and residential buildings. During the last ten years he has achieved the status of Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM Assessor, BREEAM Accredited Professional, and Carbon Trust Low Carbon Consultant. He has provided home energy advice to many householders in Essex, including setting up the Home Energy Advistory Programme with the former Chelmsford Environmental Partnership in 2002. This course is a means to provide support for a greater number of people.
His commercial projects include sustainable energy advice for the Royal Albert Hall, Lakeside Shoppintg Centre, Quinlan Terry, Tesco, and the Diocese of Chelmsford (and Assington Mill). He chairs the "Energy Environment and Sustainability Group" of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, providing support to engineers interested in sustainability, and bringing together expertise to inform policy and strategy for Government.
