Jane Wilson
After some years in teaching, Jane went into the book trade and in 1988 studied for a British Library accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Library Conservation (Distinction).
Since then she has worked for a wide range of clients, both private and in the public and business sector, as well as for booksellers and dealers. A particular specialism is the conservation repair of tightback (generally pre-1800) leather volumes using Japanese tissues - a method avoiding rebacking which affects the value, appearance and integrity of such books.
The books on which I have worked over the years range from near pricelss 16th century volumes to much loves (and worn) children's books! There is no end to the variety and interest of the work.
