Jo Hammond

Jo has always been interested in the natural world, and when someone gave her a book that showed baskets made of wild twigs and climbers, a spark ws ignited.  She has been making baskets and playuing with twigs for about twelve years now, with activities ranging from Christmas wreath-making to boatbuilding with hazel wands and cowhide.

It is great that with the awareness of the importance of renewable, local products, the status of British basketry is now growing.

Jo has a BA Hons in Fine Art, a certificate in Countryside and Heritage Interprettion and a City & Guilds Teacher's Certificate.  She has worked with organisations including Suffolk College, the National Trust, Mind, the RHS and The Woodland Trust.
