Simon became interested in bees about five years ago. What started off as a hobby has now expanded into a small commercial operation, which produced half a ton of honey this year. Jars of this honey, under his own label Stour Valley Bees, will be on sale at the course.
Simon now has about twenty hives, which he has made himself. He is a joiner by trade and runs his own joinery business in Wormingford nearby, where he was born and bred.
This course is an introduction to the subject, with the emphasis on the practical aspects of beekeeping, and is designed for beginners.
